How might we heighten the customer experience across Singapore's shopping malls through an integrated solution?
Digital & Emerging Payments
A startup offering F&B businesses a plug-and-play solution that would allow adopters to go digital.
Shopping malls are on every corner of our city-state, many owned by major property developers like Frasers Property Singapore that boast impressive portfolios of properties. Yet, there is glaring lack of platforms that deliver a unified experience for shoppers, especially when it comes to dining. F&B options at malls are increasingly popular and now more than ever, are innovative in their customer experience, menu offering and settings. How can Frasers Property Singapore engage with their shoppers/diners on a whole new level?
Together with startup Eunoia, the DBS Startup Xchange and Digital & Emerging Payments teams proposed Makan Master, a mobile application aggregating the dining experience at participating F&B outlets in all of Frasers Property Singapore's shopping malls.
See how Makan Master consolidates various options under one app:
Makan Master allows dine-in customers to reserve tables, order and make seamless cashless payments without having to leave their tables. In addition, it gives customers the option to make pre-orders for self-collection.
Participating F&B merchants also benefit from going digital - access to cashless payments allows them to expand their reach to a broader customer base via multiple ordering channels, while enjoying greater operational flexibility and dexterity.
Startup Xchange supported Eunoia and Frasers Property Singapore from the initial phases of ideation and development, providing guidance in user interface and experience design based on the analysis of the average shopper's journey in the mall.
The Startup Xchange team also worked hand in hand with Eunoia during the pre-launch tenant onboarding process. These tenants were offered training on managing and modifying its operations to cater to the new customer base that would come with the introduction of Makan Master.
The positive outcome of Eunoia's first partnership with Startup Xchange on Food Junction's FJ Makan, led them to land their second project - this time with Frasers Property Singapore. Since then, Eunoia's clientele has further expanded to include notable clients such as Dairy Farm. The startup is also in the process of scaling its business beyond Singapore, into fast-growing digital markets like Indonesia and the Philippines.
Having worked with the Startup Xchange team on another F&B project after our Food Junction Project, it was easy to pick up where we left off. We already had a good team dynamic, and there was no doubt that the bank's access to networks and resources helped us out a lot on this project. We are always open to collaborating with Startup Xchange again in the future.
