DBS Bank (China) is a first mover in the newly established China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone. We are the only foreign bank that is among the first batch of financial institutions to obtain approval to set up an outlet in the FTZ on 29 September 2013, to receive operational approval on 31 December 2013, and to be among the first to commence business on 7 January 2014.
To share our first hand insights and to celebrate the official opening of the DBS Bank (China) Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone Sub-Branch, the bank held a DBS China “Shanghai FTZ Connecting Asia” Forum on 3 April 2014 at Shangri-la Hotel, Pudong, Shanghai, attended by about 300 clients from across the region. Speakers include Zheng Yang, Director-General, Shanghai Municipal Financial Services Office; Shi Liya, Deputy Director-General, The People’s Bank of China Shanghai Head Office RMB Cross-Border Business Department and Li Jun, Deputy Secretary General, China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Administration.
As a leading bank in Asia, DBS is committed to leverage our vast Asian network and experiences in Singapore, Hong Kong and across the region to help customers understand and seize growth opportunities from the development of the FTZ, RMB globalisation and interest rate liberalisation.
