How might we elevate the traditional Order-Pay-Collect model to retain customer loyalty?

Everyone, from office workers to families, flock to air-conditioned food courts like Food Republic when they crave local hawker fare away from the heat. In fact, Food Republic is patronised by repeat customers who dine there routinely. This presents an opportunity for the food court to enhance its customers' experience and at the same, time, reward their loyalty.
The Startup Xchange team worked closely with Food Republic and SGeBiz to explore different ways to elevate a traditional Order-Pay-Collect mobile application. Together, they identified the opportunity to incorporate a loyalty programme that would both retain and convert new patrons to loyal customers. And so the FR Rewards app was introduced.

With just a quick scan of the QR code through their mobile phones, customers of Food Republic can enjoy convenient, cashless payments through the FR Rewards mobile application. Loyalty points accumulated can also be used to redeem e-vouchers and time-specific deals through the in-app Rewards Catalogue.
Stall owners also benefit from cashless payments with reduced time spent on handling cash, alleviating the manpower crunch during peak hours and allowing them to focus on preparing and delivering quality meals.
Throughout the project, Startup Xchange offered SGeBiz feedback and guidance on the average customer journey as well as the design interface of the app.
Since working on Food Republic Rewards, SGeBiz has enjoyed greater visibility and market share in the F&B industry, and report a steady growth in revenue. They continue to expand the usage of the application across more outlets.
