Akademi Berbagi continues to be a resource of knowledge and education for Indonesians around the country. So we helped ignite more possibilities for the community and its volunteers by giving something priceless: confidence.
Akademi Berbagi was built upon the sheer passion for education, and the idea that knowledge could become the single factor in providing more opportunities for Indonesians to improve their lives. The community has already facilitated over 1000 classes and worked with over 200 teachers from all across Indonesia to teach various subjects such as Social Media, Scriptwriting, Entrepreneurship and even Time Management.

As one of the founders of Akademi Berbagi, Ainun Chonsum believes that the volunteers of the community remains to be one of the most important part in facilitating more open classes for Indonesians to be involved. They played a key role in finding teachers, collaborating with schools and partners for logistics, and even conducting the classes for their local chapters.
There is nothing more powerful than combining your passion for learning with the confidence to make a change. As Akademi Berbagi continues to facilitate more classes, Ainun discovered that there was a disparity between both the communication skills and confidence of volunteers for the community.
I think the most fundamental factor in improving yourself is through communications, and this is the same for communities as well. Volunteers need to have excellent communication skills because it can ultimately drive change and inspire ideas. - Ainun Chomsun
For volunteers, having the confidence and knowledge to speak well is often undermined by our humbled nature and nervousness. But with enough training and opportunities, this can actually bring forth inspiration amongst volunteers, teachers and anyone involved with Akademi Berbagi's program in facilitating regular classes and events.
With the help of DBS, Akademi Berbagi developed an intensive workshop for some of the key Akademi Berbagi volunteers across Indonesia. Both DBS and Akademi Berbagi worked together to identify the key areas of communications that were to be workshopped during the event, which included public speaking, identifying your communication traits, and employing body language for delivering a speech.
DBS also helped invite Prabu Revolusi and Maya Arvini, two of the most prominent public speakers to facilitate the workshop and provide their own professional insights and experience in communications.
The volunteers that attended the workshop came from all around Indonesia, including Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya. Each of the volunteers came from different chapters and had different professional careers. One was a dentist, another a primary school teacher. But they all shared the same passion for learning and the positive impact Akademi Berbagi brings to people and their communities.
Through the workshop, DBS helped kickstart newfound confidence for the Akademi Berbagi volunteers to make a better difference in growing the community.
It was a moment of rediscovery for the volunteers. Empowered with hands-on knowledge on public speaking, it was also an opportunity for Akademi Berbagi volunteers to understand their personal speaking style; getting a better understanding of how they communicate information and being given tips to effectively communicate using your individual traits.
