The Spark of Giving
With the help of Bank DBS Indonesia, Ahmad and his daughter Aldina can have a memorable and special birthday celebration.
I’ve always wanted to give a special birthday celebration for my only daughter, Aldina. So far, I haven’t had the opportunity to make it real. That’s why I would like to give Dina a day that is memorable while at the same time contributing positive impact to the local community. I would like to celebrate Dina’s birthday in a local mosque with the less fortunate children in order to teach her the values of sharing

Every father’s dream is to make their children happy. This dream is also shared by Ahmad Alimudin. In accordance to his daughter, Aldina’s, fifth birthday on June 20th, Ahmad wishes to create a special moment for his one and only daughter by having a birthday party and giving her memorable gifts.
As a father of one, Ahmad often finds that he has not had the opportunity to hold memorable birthday parties for his daughter. This year, for his daughter, Aldina, Ahmad wishes to not only give her gifts with the picture of her favorite cartoon character, but also to throw her a memorable and special birthday party, held with less fortunate children in the nearby mosque.
Behind his simple wish, Ahmad aims to impart a message for his daughter.
We used to celebrate Dina’s birthdays in a simple manner by inviting close relatives. But this year, Dina’s birthday coincidentally falls during the month of Ramadhan, so we would like to teach the children about the values of sharing, by having a break fasting birthday party with less fortunate children, neighbors, and relatives

In the holy month of Ramadhan, Ahmad, together with Bank DBS Indonesia, held a birthday party for Dina and gave her gifts with drawings of her favorite cartoon, Frozen.
On this special day, Dina received a Frozen schoolbag and roller shoes, and celebrated her birthday at a local mosque, Al-Wustho, with less fortunate children and close relatives.
The family were also breaking the fast with a prayer and by sharing iftar meals with the guests.
Ahmad’s wish to impart a valuable lesson and a memorable day for his daughter has now become a reality.
I am very lucky that my dream can be made into reality. Aside from making my daughter happy, I was also able to teach Dina a lesson on the value of sharing, especially in this holy month of Ramadhan. I hope that in the future, Dina can grow to be a kind and giving child
