Indonesia, 10 Jul 2024 - To mark its 35th anniversary, Bank DBS Indonesia launched the 'Trust Your Spark' campaign aimed at igniting and empowering the 'spark' within everyone so that they can pursue their dreams and aspirations with no hesitation. The campaign is an extension of the 'Live more, Bank less' spirit that embodies Bank DBS Indonesia's commitment to providing customers with a pleasant banking experience so that they can live a more meaningful life (Live more), without the hassle of banking (Bank less).

President Director at PT Bank DBS Indonesia Lim Chu Chong said, "We thank all our customers, partners, employees and stakeholders for their support over the past 35 years. Every individual has a 'spark' or spirit that drives them to be better every day, to make a difference, to face challenges, and to inspire others. We believe in the 'spark' of Bank DBS Indonesia that consistently prioritises collaboration, turns ambition into action, and gives meaning and significance to the lives of everyone it touches. Through the 'Trust Your Spark' campaign, we hope Bank DBS Indonesia can continue to play an active role as a driving force for the immediate community and advance the nation's economy through innovative banking products and services."

The spirit of 'Trust Your Spark' is also reflected in Bank DBS Indonesia's efforts to deliver banking products that are relevant and can satisfy the needs of both retail and corporate customers. For retail customers, Bank DBS Indonesia offers a range of trusted wealth management solutions through DBS Treasures and Treasures Private Client to help customers strengthen their legacy for future generations. In addition, customers can use digibank by DBS as a full-fledged digital banking service accessible 24/7 to perform transactions and to invest as well as to get access to curated insight analysis according to their preferences. In addition, Bank DBS Indonesia has launched a multifunctional savings account, Green Savings, which is designed to enable customers to make contribution to social and environmental objectives by donating a portion of their savings interest to Yayasan Tangan Pengharapan and chocolate farmers supported by Krakakoa.

For corporate customers, in 2023, Bank DBS Indonesia disbursed Rp6.1 trillion worth of sustainable funds or loans linked to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). The amount increased fivefold or 540% from that realised in 2022, at Rp1.1 trillion, and exceeded the target of Rp1.3 trillion. Bank DBS Indonesia's ESG-linked loans in 2023 were equivalent to 9.61% of the total loan portfolio that stood at Rp63.44 trillion. Bank DBS Indonesia also continued to accelerate the distribution of these funds in the first half of 2024. The commitment is evident in the distribution of social funds through the Uncommitted Revolving Credit Facility worth IDR1 trillion to PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) under the MEKAAR programme. In addition, Bank DBS Indonesia also provided US$10 million in credit facility to PT Indo-Rama Synthetics Tbk (INDR).

Igniting the 'spark' to contribute to environmental conservation and community empowerment

As a manifestation of the third sustainability pillar, Impact Beyond Banking, Bank DBS Indonesia through the DBS Foundation Business for Impact Grant Award provides grants to selected social enterprises (SEs) to expand their reach and sustainability impact on ESG.

Each SE that received the grant has a 'spark' that drives them to address various social and environmental challenges in Indonesia while supporting the Social Development Goals (SDG) adopted by the United Nations. Waste management, sustainable fashion, women empowerment, increasing awareness of air pollution are some of the matters the SEs focus on. In 2023, the DBS Foundation Business for Impact Grant Award programme received more than 2,000 applicants from six countries in Asia, including 181 from Indonesia. Four Indonesian SEs, namely Magalarva, Liberty Society, Plana, and Nafas, were selected as grant recipients.

"We admire these social enterprises for their belief in their 'spark' that seeks to address environmental and social issues, as well as gender equality and equal employment opportunities. This is the driving force behind Bank DBS Indonesia's passion to be a strategic partner as well as a key driver for sustainability. We hope the 'Trust Your Spark' campaign can inspire more social enterprises to play an active role in realising a sustainable Indonesia," said Head of Group Strategic Marketing and Communications at PT Bank DBS Indonesia Mona Monika.

As part of the 35th anniversary celebration and the launch of the 'Trust Your Spark' campaign, Bank DBS Indonesia conducted a series of internal activities, including an employee volunteer movement or People of Purpose and product promotions.
