Up to SGD250,000 in Grants to Help Tackle the Challenges of Vulnerable Communities in Indonesia
Indonesia, 19 Jul 2024 - DBS Foundation invites innovative and impactful social enterprises (SEs) and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to apply for the DBS Foundation Grant Award from July 15 to August 15, 2024. Selected social enterprises and SMEs will receive up to SGD250,000 in grant funding to enable them to expand their positive impact in tackling social and environmental issues. This is aligned with DBS Foundation's 'Trust Your Spark' spirit to ignite the 'spark' or motivation to contribute and make a difference, including by supporting social enterprises.
Specifically, the DBS Foundation Grant programme looks out for social entrepreneurs and SMEs that:
Apart from providing up to SGD250,000 in grant funding, DBS Foundation also taps into Bank DBS' expertise, resources and network to help grantees with capacity building, mentoring, preferential banking solutions and other types of support. They can also connect with DBS Foundation's growing community of Impact Makers to exchange ideas and explore synergies.
Since 2015, the DBS Foundation Grant programme has helped more than 140 purpose-driven businesses to scale up their business and impact through the provision of over SGD17 million in grant funding across Asia. Moreover, through its various initiatives, DBS Foundation has provided mentorship for 1,200 social entrepreneurs and SMEs in the region. Activities such as peer learning, networking, accelerator programs and capacity building, skills-based consultations with experts at DBS Bank equip social enterprises and SMEs with the insights they need to expand their reach and contribution.
In 2023, Nafas, Liberty Society, Plana, and Magalarva from Indonesia received grants to develop their business plans and address such issues as air pollution, food and plastic waste, and women's empowerment. These impactful companies undeniably have the 'spark' that drives them to pursue their dreams and aspirations for the benefits of others. As of 2024, the grant will focus on developing innovative social enterprises and SMEs to help create a more inclusive world and bring change to vulnerable communities in Asia.
All applications received before August 15, 2024 at 23:59 SGT will be further evaluated for the selection of social enterprises and SMEs that will receive grant funding from DBS Foundation.
