Have you set your new year resolutions for 2021?

A new year represents hope and a renewed sense of purpose for many, and this year, we wanted to inspire everyone to better themselves with what they already have.

The DBS Giving Tree is an initiative that was started during the festive period last year, and one that we felt best encapsulates this idea. We call it the DBS Giving Tree as it represents our efforts to give back to the planet, and we also repurpose the décor from the trees to pay it forward for our colleagues and the society.

It is a 100% circular tree, where its structure is made entirely from sustainable materials. As food waste is one of the biggest waste streams during the holiday festivities, we wanted to raise awareness on this issue by decorating our giving trees with future-fit food items from social enterprise WhatIf Foods. These food items were then turned into sweet treats with the help of Glaze, and distributed to seniors and children during Christmas!

With Chinese New Year coming up, the tree would be turned into an Ox when we usher in the Year of the Ox next month!
