Entry Criteria

To seek admission as an international student into one of the many prestigious courses at the SMU Singapore, you need to check the accepted list of examinations. To enter a bachelor’s programme, you typically have to provide your TOEFL or IELTS academic scores. For post-graduate programmes, the college may ask for your GMAT or GRE scores. SMU - Campus

The SMU campus has eight main blocks. Of these, six buildings are connected by ‘Concourse’, which is an underground walkway. The eight on-campus blocks include:

The university grounds also include a multi-purpose sports hall, a gymnasium, and a swimming pool. The 2,600 square-metre Kwa Geok Choo Law Library is a fully-equipped modern library with the capacity to seat over 500 people.

SMU - Residence

Located on the famous Prinsep Street is the SMU hostel, formally referred to as SMU Prinsep Street Residences. Abbreviated as PSR, it is a novel communal living concept designed to accommodate young studying adults, those desiring to live and interact in open spaces. The PSR hostel consists of 23 stylish, fully furnished apartments that can provide modern, comfortable living and accommodate approximately 250 residents. Also, the priority to reside on campus is given to international students since most of them choose to live in hostels during their stay in Singapore.

Besides the PRS hostel, the SMU University also leases rooms at a student hostel located rooms at Commonwealth Drive, which can accommodate over 200 SMU students from the 2nd year and onwards and full-time postgraduate students and exchange students. This campus is located near the cosmopolitan Holland Village, popularly known for its cafes and restaurants.

Students may also choose to live off-campus in rented facilities on sharing basis with other students from the university. While residing in one of the hostels can cost you approximately SGD 588 per month, the cost of living in your preferred rented facility depends on the area you live in and can be in the range of SGD 600-800 per month.

SMU - Application Process

To apply to SMU, you must send in your applications between October and March of an academic year, with courses beginning in August of each year. SMU only accepts online applications, and you can send the same directly through its website. Here are the steps you need to follow to apply to SMU University, Singapore.

1. Download and fill the online application form with your personal, contact, and parents’ details.
2. Upload the supporting documents as mentioned in the form. You typically have to provide your Singapore student pass (as an international student), high school/university examination results, entrance exam scores (SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.), and your school testimonials.
3. If you wish to provide any additional hard-copy documents, you may mail them to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions & Financial Assistance (OUAFA), Singapore Management University, Level 3, Administration Building, 81 Victoria Street, Singapore 188065.
4. Once you complete uploading the documents, you have to pay an online non-refundable application fee of $15 using your credit card.
5. If you are shortlisted, you will hear back from the university regarding the last date for enrolment.
